San Diego’s Top Gun themed tax video staring Mayor Faulconer, Councilman Todd Gloria, and former mayor Jerry Sanders.

Every year the San Diego County Taxpayers Associating hosts an annual event called “Annual Golden Fleece & Watchdog Awards”.

But it’s got a San Diego twist. Every year the Taxpayers Association along with some of San Diego’s top politicos produce their own video promoting the event and lampooning the news and politics.

This year’s Top Gun themed video starts our former mayor Jerry Sander, current mayor Kevin Faulconer and City Council president Todd Gloria.

A little preview of the video has hit YouTube.

Enjoy!

AM Briefing from Bowlersdesk.com for September 3, 2013

At 11 AM today in a yet to be determined location Carl DeMaio is going to announce if he’s running for mayor. DeMaio lost to Bob Filner in a close election less than a year ago and he’s currently running for congress. If DeMaio runs for mayor he’ll have to drop out of his congressional race, witch won’t be decided till next year. So it’s still conceivable that DeMaio runs for mayor … and if he loses … the restarts his congressional race. However I seriously doubt that Carl DeMaio plans on losing anything.

The interim mayor Todd Gloria is also expected to make his decision to run or not today as well.

Today is the first day of school for 133,000 students in the San Diego Unified School District. At 5:00 AM district officials will officially ring in the new school year at Mission Bay High School.

Now that San Diego’s Mayor Bob Filner has resigned and a special election will be called and the story turns to who is going to run for Mayor. Several of San Diego’s power players are defiantly not running. On her way out of the KSWB FOX5 studio after a live morning show interview last Thursday Bonnie Dumanis told me “No and Hell No!”. State Assembly Majority Leader Toni Atkins and San Diego’s City Attorney Jann Goldsmith have also bowed out. But Nathan Fletcher has filed the paperwork to run and is beginning to gather his team. Kevin Faulconer, Carl DeMaio, and Todd Gloria are all considering but have yet to announce.

Eastlake Little League All-Stars lost 6 to 4 against Japan in the Little League World Series. Still they are the U.S. Champs … manager Rick Tibbett summed it up best when he said “it’s baseball you know, You lose. You win. We will be playing baseball next weekend.”
