AM Briefing from Bowlersdesk.com for July 10, 2013

AM Briefing from Bowlersdesk.com for July 10, 2013

The National Weather Service says that big waves and rip currents will hit San Diego’s beaches late this afternoon and into tomorrow. Swimmers and surfers need to be very careful and always swim in front of a lifeguard. Personally on days like these unless you’re a strong ocean swimmer and experienced surfer do not go in the water. However if you do go in and end up getting caught in a rip remember to swim parallel to the shore until your free of the current then swim in.

Red Flag Warning today

[trib_ndn vid=23939906]SAN DIEGO — Dry and windy conditions will heighten the risk of wildfire in the valleys and mountains of San Diego County today, forecasters

“A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures will create explosive fire growth potential,” according to an
advisory from the National Weather Service.

The agency scheduled a red flag warning for the valleys and mountains of San Diego County from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

During that period, sustained northeast winds of 15 to 25 miles per hour, with gusts up to 45 mph, were expected.

Humidity today was expected to fall to around 10 to 15 percent.
