Political Podcast with Nathan Fletcher

Listen above of get it on iTunes HERE

Welcome to another Political Podcast from BowlersDesk.com.

This time Ric Epps and I sat down with Mayoral candidate Nathan Fletcher.

This is Nathan’s second bite at the mayoral apple. We talked about everything from the economy, to the federal shutdown, and beer.

To me his campaign doesn’t seem to be that different substantively this time around, with the exception of his staff.

Reaching across the aisle and working with other is a main theme.

His campaign wants voters to see him as the boss you like. Firm but fair.

You be the judge.

Remember if you want to jump on your political soapbox you can do that by jumping on ours, call the BowlersDesk.com Political Podcast Soapbox and leave a message … 619-663-4531

Fede Alvarez, Director of the Evil Dead re-make, stopped by the Movies on Demand Media Cafe and answered fan and media questions.

One interesting line of discussion was his approach to the Hollywood rating system and how he dealt with it during the making of the new Evil Dead movie.

Check it out in the youtube clip above.

Comic-Con Freebies and a Grumpy Journalist

One of the reasons members of the press love covering Comic-Con is for all of the extras. There are tons of freebies like poster, some times even a toy for the kid, and LOTS of free food.

A few smart companies have leaned that setting up press lounges is another great way to get lots of attention and positive press.

Not surprisingly Wire Magazine is one of those companies. The Wired Media Cafe is nice. They have free beer, food, give always, and some celebs stop by to schmooze with the press. It’s lots of fun, if your into a bar with loud music first thing in the morning after a late night. 11 AM is too early for me to start drinking and all I wanted was a cup of coffee.

So I walked the block over to the much smaller and much quieter Movies On Demand media lounge. Low and behold COFFEE! Along with a much quieter place to sit and write this post out.

Maybe I’m just getting to old. All I wanted was some coffee and a quiet place to sit and work.

I liked the Movies On Demand press lounge better.

Its amazing the things you take for granted after a bit of spoiling.

Yesterday about 30 supporters gathered to shear their support and today opponents is gathering to call for a recall election. Land use consultant Michael Palomar is leading the effort.
