Donations pour in for family who lost home in wildfire
SAN DIEGO – Communities around San Diego County have come together to donate goods to a family that lost their home to the recent wildfires.
Stanley Sekerke’s home at 404 Washingtonia Drive in the Coronado Hills neighborhood burned down Wednesday after the Coco’s Fire broke out in San Marcos. He and his family rented the home there for the last four years.
He and his pregnant wife, Amanda, with their four young children were able to escape before the wildfire torched all their possessions.
Family friend, Jessica Jones, told Fox5, the family didn’t have insurance and lost everything in the fire. She posted information about the family on social media and received quite the response.
“Watching people come together to help people they don’t even know. I just wanted to help my friends, but these people don’t know them and that’s amazing,” Jones said.
