1 killed, 1 arrested in Carlsbad homicide


unnamed C ARLSBAD, Calif. – A woman was found dead in her place of employment’s parking lot in Carlsbad and a 49-year-old man was jailed today in connection with her death.

Someone called police shortly before 8 p.m., Saturday to check on a woman who had been working at a business in the 5700 block of Van Allen Way near Faraday Avenue, according to the Carlsbad Police Department.

Arriving officers found the woman’s body in the parking lot of a business park and determined she had been the victim of a homicide, police officials said.

Pedro Rosalino Zurita was arrested after authorities followed investigative leads and was later booked into the Vista Detention Facility for suspicion of first degree murder, according to police and jail records.

Meet the 2014-15 #Charger Girls


San Diego – The San Diego Chargers unveiled the 2014 Charger Girls today, the 28-member dance squad was selected from among nearly 300 talented hopefuls.

“I was really impressed with the deep pool of talent that auditioned for this year’s team,” Charger Girls Director Lisa Simmons said. “We had to make some tough decisions to select the final 28 girls. That strong competition has ensured we’ll have one of our finest squads ever.”

Dancers from across the nation showed up Sunday for preliminary auditions. From the first round of auditions, 71 finalists were selected to move on to panel interviews and a final dance routine.  The final squad was chosen Thursday night at the end of the five-day audition process.


The squad is made up of women with a variety of backgrounds and ranged in age from 18 to 31. There are 14 returning veterans and 14 first-time Charger Girls…
