San Diego County Sheriff Bill Gore announced the arrest of a 23-year-old man they believe broke into little girl’s bedrooms while they slept. Sheriff Gore says the Dwayne Farrell was arrested yesterday afternoon on suspicion of burglary. Gore also says that Farrell is known to detectives and was linked to the crime by DNA. Farrell is accused of breaking into two separate little girls bedrooms and watching them while they slept. Reportedly in one case the mother of an 8-year-old was in sleeping with her daughter when she heard heavy breathing and found a man watching them.

Sheriff Gore says “Where somebody is so brazen to break into a home while people are there, and then enter into the bedrooms of small children — really, it makes you shudder to think what might have happened”

San Diego County Sheriff’s also says they arrested six men ranging in age from 21 to 55 for allegedly trying to hire prostitutes. All six men were arrested by the North County Prostitution / Human Trafficking Task Force.

Lots going on in court today

First at 8:30 this morning in San Diego’s downtown courthouse Judy Lynn Hayman will have an identity hearing to confirm if she is the woman that escaped from a Michigan prison nearly 40-year-ago.

Authorities say Hayman was serving time for larceny after stealing some clothes from a department store when she escaped. She’s fighting the extradition.

Four big arraignments today.

First at 9:30 AM in San Diego’s Federal Court Ravneet Singh will be in front of a Magistrate and accused of conspiring to funnel money from a foreign national into San Diego political campaigns.

Second San Diego police officer Christopher Hays will be arraigned in San Diego’s courthouse at 1:30 PM for allegedly sexually assaulting up to six women during pat down searches.

Third at 1:30 this afternoon in El Cajon’s courthouse Samuel Remson and Dominique Woods are being arraigned for supposedly stealing mail that included credit cards and checks from over 100 people.

And Fourth Cynthia Cdebaca is in Vista’s courthouse at 1:30 PM and accused of shooting her 53-year-old son-in-law.

Also at 1:30 this afternoon in San Diego’s courthouse Paul Aaron Brinkman will be sentenced for charging an officer with a pair of scissors. FYI … the officer shot him.

Tonight at 5:30 San Diego Unified School District Trustee Kevin Beiser is at Patrick Henry High School taking input from the public about the school board’s vision for 2020.

The Port of San Diego is talking to the public about its 50-year plan tonight at 6:00. This is the first of two meeting at the B Street Cruise Ship Terminal.

And finally tonight at 7:15 Solana Beach’s Belly Up Tavern is hosting the “Concert for Heroes” to raise money for the Navy SEAL N-S-W Family Foundation.

Chickens run free after truck overturns on highway


[trib_ndn vid=25631733]SAN DIEGO – A semi-truck carrying chickens overturned on a San Diego freeway Monday allowing some of the freed chickens to run wild, highway officers said.

The truck rolled over at 8:50 p.m. on state Route 94 in Dulzura, California Highway Patrol officers said.   Officers stopped westbound traffic to catch about a dozen chickens that were running free, while a few dozen chickens died in the crash.

chickens in truck The driver, who suffered minor injuries, told investigators he swerved to avoid a deer and lost control of the truck, crashing into a tree and fence, CHP said.

Two vehicles attempting to avoid the overturned truck and animals collided, the officer said.

The highway was expected to be open by midnight.
