[trib_ndn vid=25585151]SAN DIEGO — David Alvarez and Kevin Faulconer can finally see the finish line of what’s been a very long race to become the next San Diego mayor.

Both candidates are entering the final week of their campaigns, polls said it’s still a pick’em race — who’ll get to the tape first is still not for certain.

The men behind the candidates, the campaign managers, are not easily persuaded to give up details about their plans for the final push toward election night. You can count on mailers, television and radio ads… that you know, but specifics about strategy? It’s a closely guarded secret.

OK this is your editorial alert…

Depending on grade level it can cost over $27,000 a year to send your kid to Francis Parker School. My question is … who is affecting surprise that the parents of kids who attend a super expensive private school would the political slash financial clout to get the city council to honor their kid’s volleyball team? Now if these kids oh i don’t know fed thousands of hungry people then yea honor them … but playing volleyball real good?? Seriously??

OK I’m done…
