Weather in San Diego!

San Diego County is getting showers along the coast and inland valleys and snow in the mountains. The National Weather Service issued then canceled its winter weather advisory for San Diego city but the east county mountains still have one. The snow level will be at around 4000 feet and their expecting up to 4-inches on the ground. So if you live in or are going to the mountains take care the roads will be slick.

Sheriff’s Department is giving tours of the new women’s jail and recruiting this morning starting at 6:00 AM. The new jail is in the East San Diego city of Santee right next to the Las Colinas Women’s Detention Facility.

This afternoon at 1:30 in San Diego’s courthouse there is a sentencing and arraignment worth mentioning.

First Jason Arringdale will hear his fate after pleading guilty to confronting a woman and her baby in a rest room.

Then Ameen Brynt is being arraigned and is accused of trying to rape a woman in Balboa Park.

At 10:00 AM a new City Heights community park will officially open with a ribbon-cutting from Interim Mayor Todd Gloria and Councilwoman Marti Emerald.

Then at 11:30 another ribbon-cutting for several improvements at Florence Griffith Joyner Elementary School that make walking to school safer.

And tonight at 6:00 at the Old Globe Theater … a forum on affordable housing with Interim Mayor Todd Gloria, State housing official Susan Riggs, & President / CEO of San Diego Housing Commission Richard Gentry. All that before a play about a woman who loses her house.

And finally at 8:00 AM Pershing Middle School is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
