AM Briefing from Bowlersdesk.com for December 25, 2013

Merry Christmas

An early morning fire burns though a North San Diego County apartment complex. At 2:25 AM emergency dispatchers were called to the 4600 block of Park Dr. in Carlsbad. Initial reports say it’s a two alarm fire and some are left homeless this Christmas day. More info will come out through the morning as investigators work.

40-years-ago Frank King began giving away bikes to the kids in his neighborhood in National City. He became known as National City Santa. Last year he died but his family is continuing the tradition. With help from the Boozfighters Motorcycle Club the King family will make Christmas special for as many kids as they have bikes. Donations of trailers full of toys and bikes came in all year long. Ed Cruz from the Boozefighters Motorcycle Club says “Last year, it blew me away I have to do this and be part of this”

At noon today the Salvation Army is hosting its annual Christmas dinner in two San Diego County locations. They’ll be at downtown San Diego’s Golden Hall and at the Salvation Army Community Center on 648 Third Ave in Chula Vista.
