AM Briefing from for November 12, 2013

In front of San Diego’s Hall of Justice at 9:00 AM Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez and County Supervisor Greg Cox are speaking out against the release of convicted sexually violent predator Douglas Badger. Badger’s record of sexual assaults goes back to 1974, and he’s been in and out of prison almost his entire adult life. Back in August a court found that he could be released with treatment and supervision. Another hearing is set for November 15th to try and figure out where to house him.

Planning for climate change is on the agenda for the Port of San Diego Board of Commissioners this morning at 8:30.

El Cajon’s City Council is talking about how to fill the now vacant Mayor’s Office this afternoon at 3:00. The last mayor Mark Lewis quite in disgrace last month after he was recorded in an interview making what many consider to be racially insensitive comments about El Cajon’s Iraqi community.
