The FBI is asking for help finding a former San Diego man who accused of being a cyber-criminal. 33-year-old Carlos Enrique Perez-Melara is wanted for his connection to the “Lover Spy” and “E-Mail Pi” programs. The programs were marketed as ways for people to spy on potentially cheating partners, but the FBI says that the programs are really used to eaves drop on thousands of people and collect user names and passwords. An arrest warrant was issued in 2005 for Perez-Melara. He has ties to San Diego but his last known location is San Salvador, El Salvador. The FBI is offering $50,000 for information leading to his arrest.

The guided-missile destroyers USS Stockdale and USS William P. Lawrence are coming home to San Diego this morning. The ships and their 600 sailors deployed on Jan 14th for the Middle East, Mediterranean, Black Seas, Western Pacific, and Indian Ocean. While deployed in the Red Sea two of the Lawrence’s crew died when the MH-60S Knighthawk helicopter they were in crash while trying to land on deck.

California State University San Marcos is breaking ground on their new Veterans Center at 11:00. The university has nearly 1,100 veterans attending classes.

And finally tonight at 6:00 the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is hosting there “Light the Night Walk” in support of blood cancer victims. They are meeting at Petco Park in downtown San Diego.
