Brett Anderson the father of kidnap and assault victim Hannah Anderson is asking the media to give his family and in particular his daughter privacy and time to heal. 16-year-old Hannah was rescued from her kidnapper after the murder of her mother and brother sparked a nationwide Amber Alert for her and her abductor James Lee DiMaggio. 40-year-old DiMaggio was shot and killed by authorities at a camp site near Boise Idaho. San Diego’s Sheriff Bill Gore says that Hannah is “a victim in every sense of the word in this horrific crime.”

Authorities are now continuing their investigation however Gore says that “When you get a completely irrational act like we’ve seen here With two murders and a kidnapping, sometimes you’re not going to be able to come up with a rational explanation of what happened.”

The chief of staff for San Diego’s Mayor Bob Filner is speaking at a Lion’s Club meeting this afternoon. Lee Burdick is supposed to address the group at 12:30

Expanding Chula Vista’s H street waterfront and Shelter Island’s Kona Kai Resort is on the docket for the Port of San Diego Board of Commissioners this afternoon at 1:00.

And this afternoon at 2:00 Chula Vista’s City Council is meeting about the possible resurrection of a Tourism Marketing District. It was dissolved about a year ago

San Diego’s new airport terminal is officially open today. The new terminal will has a double level road for dropping off and picking up passengers, 10 gates, and even more places to eat and shop. It cost nine hundred fifty-five million dollars. Witch was under budget by about 45-million
