Four more woman come forward and accuse San Diego Mayor Bob Filner of sexual harassment.

In an interview with KPBS the woman each describe their encounter.

One by one the add their story to the pile of growing accusation against the mayor.

This brings the total number of Filner accusers to 7.

New allegations prompt Dems review stance on Filner


SAN DIEGO — A day after two more women accused the mayor of San Diego of sexual harassment, the county Democratic Party Thursday will meet for the second time to work out its stance on the political future of Bob Filner.

Party committee members met last Thursday for more than three hours but failed to reach a consensus on whether to support the 70-year-old Filner, whose resignation is being clamored for by several local office holders and civic leaders, both Democrat and Republican.

In a statement released after last week’s meeting, committee chairwoman Francine Busby said that, although committee members were divided, there would be grounds for Filner’s resignation if the sexual harassment allegations turn out to be true.

“I can share some broad areas of agreement among Democratic Party leaders,” she said. “We unequivocally condemn sexual harassment and workplace intimidation. We abhor the actions he is alleged to have…

Trapped immigrants rescued from storm drain


[trib_ndn vid=24974243]SAN DIEGO – Firefighters rescued more than two dozen people trapped in a storm drain near the Mexico border Thursday.

Homelands Security officials called the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department at about 3 a.m. to report that more than 20 people who were in a drain pipe at Border Village Road and Virginia Avenue in San Ysidro.

The people were discovered in the drain pipe following a report that two vehicles plowed through the U.S.-Mexico border fence, Border Patrol agent Jacopo Bruni said.

“Two Ford F-150 pickup trucks and a GMC Safari crashed through two gates north of the former Mexican customs compound, adjacent to the San Ysidro border crossing,” said Bruni. “They went northbound on I-5 at a high rated speed.”

Bruni said the group abandoned their vehicles along the freeway and an agent spotted one of the suspects near a storm drain.

The parade of sexual harassment accusers continues for San Diego Mayor Bob Filner.

In an interview with KPBS a third woman came forward yesterday. Morgan Rose a psychologist for San Diego Unified School District says that the then congressman tried to kiss her during a meeting.

According to the KPBS story Rose started an organization to help improve child “well-being”. Rose goes on to say that she was trying to raise the groups profile and was hoping for the congressman’s help. She claims he tried repeatedly to kiss her while at a Marie Calendars across the street from his office in January of 2009.

Rose is the third woman to come forward in under a week making sexual harassment allegation against the Mayor.

Guided missile frigate USS Rentz is deploying today to help stop the flow of drugs from South and Central America into the United States. Originally the Rentz was supposed to deploy in April but because of the budget sequestration the deployment was delayed until today.

Today at 11:00 AM San Diego’s Metropolitan Transit System is starting construction on the trolley system. All of the stations from San Ysidro to Old Town are being remodeled to accommodate our new low-rise trolleys. This makes it easier and quicker to get on and off the trolley because you don’t have to step up and disabled passengers in wheel chairs can just roll right on. The construction is being kicked off with a press conference at 11:00 AM.

Tonight 6:30 two major Democratic groups are getting together to talk about sexual harassment

First members of the San Diego Democrats for Equality are meeting in private to talk specifically about the mayor and his sexual harassment allegations at the Joyce Beers Community Center.

Then also at 6:30 the Central Committee for the San Diego County Democratic Party is talking about the local party’s official position on sexual harassment. They are meeting at party headquarters at 8340 Clairemont Mesa Blvd.

And finally this morning at 9:30 Chargers open up their training camp to the public. It’s free and at Charger Park at 4020 Murphy Canyon Road.

[trib_ndn vid=24971867]SAN DIEGO — A school psychologist became the third woman to accuse San Diego Mayor Bob Filner of sexual harassment, saying he tried to kiss her four times during a meeting at a restaurant.

In an interview with KPBS published on YouTube, San Diego Unified School District psychologist Morgan Rose said she met with Filner in 2009 at a restaurant across from his congressional office to discuss her initiative dedicated to the well-being of America’s children.

She said that during their discussion, he told her “your eyes have bewitched me” and moved next to her.

Rose said Filner tried to kiss her four times and only stopped when he received a phone call. She told the station that he said he wouldn’t move until she kissed him.

Rose said she has called a hotline set up by the Sheriff’s Department to take complaints against the mayor. The department has…

Filner’s chief of staff explains why she took the job


SAN DIEGO – The newly appointed chief of staff for the mayor’s office joined Fox5 Wednesday to explain why she took the position and what she hopes to accomplish amid sexual harassment allegations against Mayor Bob Filner.

Within hours of taking the job, Lee Burdick told Fox5 in an exclusive interview that she took the position to help Filner lead the city and move it forward during “these challenging times.”

Since Monday, three women, including the mayor’s former communications director Irene McCormack Jackson, have publicly come forward accusing the mayor of various sexual harassment claims.

“I don’t think it’s right for anyone to jump to conclusions that wrong-doing has been had while we are still developing an evidentiary record,” Burdick said. “That process will play out in its own due time.”
