Comic-Con Is About Tech & Gadgets Too!

 

Comic-Con is much more than entrainment. Tech companies get into the act big time too. Engadget+gdgt Live is one of the many events that show cases tech. They bring tech companies together with gadget lovers all over the country, and at Comic-Con they are bringing it to us at the popular San Diego nightclub “The Stingery”

Comic Con is in full bloom. More than 130,000 fans pour into San Diego’s Gas Lamp District celebrating popular culture. All day the celebrities come out for panel talks on their latest project then at night the stars come out to party. Today’s big panel is Metallica in the massive Hall “H” at 6 pm. then they are performing at a surprise location some ware in the Gas Lamp after that.

In non-comic con news

Mayor Filner is still embroiled in his battle against the sexual harassment claims made against him. Yesterday about 30 supporters gathered to shear their support and today opponents is gathering to call for a recall election. Land use consultant Michael Palomar is leading the effort. [trib_ndn vid=24960834]SAN DIEGO– Comic-Con is all about shopping for many fans and they’re willing to spend some serious cash on limited edition items.

By the end of day one many attendees had their hands full.

“Today, I got the magic the gathering exclusive card set,” Arianna Nevius said while standing outside of the convention center. “They don’t have the specific art anywhere else besides Comic Con.”

The biggest toy makers in the world unveiled their special addition action figures Thursday.

GI-Joe/Transformers, Power Rangers and a limited addition My Little Pony with Swarovski crystals were very popular.

“It has been a mad house in here trying to get these exclusive items, we had a line around the booth,” Dark Horse Comics PR & Social Media Strategist Aub Driver said. “The Hellboy Domo Qee is a very hot item, very limited addition, also the Normandy Ship Mass Effect ER bronze addition… gone!”
