AM Briefing from for July 3, 2013


This morning San Diego Police are investigating the suspicious death of a 78-year-old woman. According to Police the elderly woman was found by family members lying on her kitchen floor and she appeared to have suffered trauma to her body. San Diego Police Homicide Detectives are investigating.

Fire burns 110 acres in east San Diego County. The blaze broke out at around 1:30 yesterday afternoon. Both air and ground crews attacked the fire … no structures damaged and no injuries have been reported and the fire burned an unpopulated and uninhabited area of the Cleveland National Forest. Later this morning CAL Fire will give an update

The San Diego County Fair continues today and pig racing is on the schedule for 11:30 am.

Oceanside’s 125th anniversary fireworks show will light up the sky tonight at 6:00. The whole community is coming out for the party from high school bands to food trucks. Best viewing will be just north of the 3300 block of Senior Center Drive.
