Morning this is the AM Briefing from for June 19, 2013

San Diego City Council is meeting all day today. First at 9:00 AM the Rules Committee is meeting about prevailing wage laws and possible revisions to the council’s committee structure. Then this afternoon at 2:00 the Land Use and Housing Committee will meet about infrastructure, the bike sharing program, and how the city wants to improve bicycle safety.

San Diego’s County Board of Supervisors is meeting at 9:00 this morning. On the agenda for them the possible purchase of some land in unincorporated Escondido.

And this evening the San Diego Association of Governments is holding another open house. This time they want public input on plans for some new rapid bus stations.

At 10:00 this morning Brice Harris, the Chancellor of the California Community Colleges, is meeting with the press. He want to show off a new website that will display what they say is the median income of people with professional certificates and or degrees. I am very curious about the accuracy of that salary information. The San Diego Continuing Education web site offers some info about potential salary ranges. However that info comes from an average not a mean. As I’m sure you all know averages can be easily skewed.

Tonight at 5:00 DonorNation is honoring school volunteers of the year. Winners were chosen out or over 26,000 votes from 140 schools in San Diego

And final tonight at 6:00 the Salvation Army Kroc Center is celebrating its 11th birthday with a free pool party, open house, and movie.

They are showing “The Incredibles”. The Kroc Center is at 6845 University Ave.
