Benghazi victims to be honored in Mt. Soledad

[trib_ndn vid=24844971]SAN DIEGO — Two former Navy Seals from San Diego killed in the controversial Benghazi terror attacks will be honored in a special ceremony at the Mount Soledad Veterans Memorial Monday.

Glen Doherty, 42, of Encinitas and 41-year-old Tyrone Woods of Imperial Beach were working as contractors in Libya when they gave the ultimate sacrifice.

DLocal veterans honored at Mt. Soledadoherty and Woods stepped in to rescue fellow Americans and fight off enemy attacks to the U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi on September 11, 2012.

Two other Americans, U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens and information officer Sean Smith, were also killed in the attacks.

Monday, Mount Soledad’s Veterans Association, which donated the plaques for Doherty and Woods, will dedicate its Memorial Day ceremony to the memory of these two heroes and their sacrifice.
