This morning San Diego’s City Council Audit Committee will talk about pothole repairs. Councilman Kevin Faulconer thinks the current system for tracking and fixing potholes needs an overhaul. The committee is holding hearing on a proposal to vote.

This afternoon the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit is returning home. While on their eight-month deployment the 1200 Maries stopped in Thailand, Bali, Australia, Oman, Jordan, United Arab Emirates and Hong Kong.

At 10:30 this morning Ice Age bison bones will be unveiled. The bones discovered by Caltrans workers during highway construction near Bonsall are the first fossilized bison found in Southern California. The 200,000 year-old fossils are now at San Diego’s Natural History Museum.
