Peleliu Amphibious Ready Group sailing toward San Diego

USS Green Bay SAN DIEGO (CNS) – The ships, sailors and Marines of the Peleliu Amphibious Ready Group will end an eight-month deployment next week and arrive in San Diego.

Members of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit are set to return to Camp Pendleton on Monday, the Navy said.

On Tuesday, the amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu, the amphibious transport dock USS Green Bay and amphibious dock landing USS Rushmore will pull into port at Naval Station San Diego.

The Peleliu ARG served as a reserve force in the Middle East and conducted exercises with allied militaries.

“The ARG has accomplished a lot in our eight months of deployment,” said Capt. Shawn Lobree, its commanding officer.
