[trib_ndn vid=24802856]SAN DIEGO –The search for three hikers from San Diego who disappeared in the San Bernardino Mountains over the weekend resumed Tuesday morning.
About 60 search and rescue volunteers with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department were searching Monday for three men from San Diego County after they didn’t return from their day hike.
David Yoder, 43, of Carlsbad was joined by Ryan Shankles, 41, and Miguel De La Torre, both from Oceanside, for a hike from Fish Creek Trail to San Gorgonio Peak Saturday. Officials said a fourth man started the hike, but turned around after about an hour and a half in due to illness.
The three men are considered experienced hikers but were not carrying overnight camping gear during the hike, officials said. The men expected to complete hike by nightfall.
When the hikers did not return by Sunday, the fourth hiker reported them missing.
