SAN DIEGO — San Diego police Wednesday asked for the public’s help in finding twin brothers wanted in a double shooting that left a man dead and another wounded.

Anibal and Edward Avila are suspected in an April 11 shooting that occurred in the west alley of 4000 39th St. about 2:45 p.m., according to SDPD.

Police responding to a report of gunfire found two wounded men. Rafael Robles, 34, died a short time later, according to police.

Homicide detectives believe the Avila may have fled to Mexico.

Both men are Hispanic and have black hair and brown eyes. Anibal is about 5 feet 4 inches and 125 pounds, slightly smaller than his brother, police said. Edward stands at 5 feet 5 inches and weighs about 145 pounds.

Anyone with more information as to their whereabouts was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
